今回は、｢旅の香り時の遊び｣(2005/7/12)で放送された島根・出雲の旅を紹介します。

出雲大社

縁結びの神・福の神として、全国の人々に親しまれている出雲大社は「大国主神」を祀っています。本殿は国宝になっており、日本で最も古い神社建築の形式をもった大社造りで、伊勢神宮の神明造りとともに代表的な神社建築です。
鳥居をくぐり、並木の参道を歩くと境内へ、正面に拝殿があり、後方、垣内に社殿、周囲には境内社が並んでいます。
正面の拝殿は、長さ8m、重さ1500kgの大しめなわが飾られています。
瑞垣の外にそって右に行くと長い社殿があります。これを東の十九社、左にあるものを西の十九社といい、旧暦の10月11日から17日まで、全国の神々が出雲大社に集られ、いろいろな神議りをされると伝えられ、その際の神々の宿舎となる社殿です。
他の地方ではこの月を神無月といい、出雲地方では、神在月と呼びます。

須佐神社

須佐神社は、出雲国風土記にも登場する由緒ある古社です。
全国に数多くある須佐之男命（スサノオノミコト）ゆかりの神社の中で唯一、御魂をお祭りしている神社です。
本殿は島根県の文化財に指定されており、出雲大社とともに代表的な大社造りの建物です。
現在のものは、1554年に尼子晴久が造営寄進したもので、それ以前は現在の4倍の大きさがあったと伝えられています。

立久恵峡
島根県出雲市乙立町
神戸川（かんどがわ）のおだやかな清流に沿って約１km奇岩や柱石がそそりたつ景観が楽しめる峡谷です。
岩には形により「猿岩」、「神亀岩」、「ろうそく岩」など名前が付けられ、見る人の想像をかき立てます。
渓谷沿いの遊歩道は約30分、途中2つの吊り橋がある。老杉の木立の中を進むと五百羅漢、その先には珍しい総丸木づくりの霊光寺があります。

ゆかり館

ゆかり館は須佐神社に隣接している温泉宿泊施設です。
土蔵風の白い建物が緑豊かな佐田町の景色とマッチして、美しい景観美を醸しています。
毎分200リットルの沸出がある温泉は、19種類ある温泉法の基準のうち5種類を規定以上に含む天然温泉で、全国的にみても大変珍しいものです。
露天風呂はもちろん、広々とした浴室には打たせ湯、ジェット風呂、気泡浴、遠赤外線サウナなど6種類の設備があり、静かな山間の温泉でゆったりとリフレッシュすることができます。

旬鮮市場　ぶらり
出雲市平田町中本田2938-2
日本海で獲れた新鮮な魚介類をはじめ、島根和牛や無農薬野菜などを販売しています。
島根の蔵元10社・県内地酒30種類の地酒試飲機も設置されており、１杯100円（40ml）で日本酒の飲み比べができます。

荒木屋
島根県出雲市大社町杵築東409-2
約220年の歴史をもつ出雲そばの老舗店です。
国内産の玄そばを石臼引きにして、コシのある手打ち蕎麦を打ち続けています。
つゆはうるめ鰯とあご節からとったダシに本醸造の醤油をあわせた独特の味わいがあります。

木綿街道
島根県出雲市平田町
日本海と宍道湖に挟まれた平田の町は、中世から内陸航路の港町として歩み、特に木綿の集散地として賑わってきました。
今も片原町、新町、宮之町の通りを中心に老舗の酒蔵や醤油工場、菓子屋などが醸造・製造を営み、白壁土蔵と妻入り商家の町並みが昔の雰囲気を醸し出しています。
地元有志が中心となり町内会や市、商工会議所の協力を得て、開催した「おちらっと木綿街道」というイベントを期に「木綿街道の会」が発足し、様々な活動を展開しています。

來間屋生姜糖本舗
島根県出雲市平田町774
300年近く、出西しょうがの風味を生かした和菓子『生姜糖』を作り続ける老舗の菓子屋です。
生姜糖は江戸末期の正徳５(1715)年に、８代前の先祖である來間文左衛門が考案したと伝えられています。
出西生姜の甘さと辛さがほどよく口の中に広がります。

目田森林公園
出雲市佐田町反辺1141-4
目田森林公園は昔山陰と山陽を結ぶ軍事上の拠点として激しい争奪が繰り返された、「高櫓城」の馬場を利用し、山の緑と空の青さを水面に映す目田池のほとりに造られた公園です。
公園内にはバンガロー・オートキャンプ場・大型遊具・ミステリーハウス・迷路・フィールドアスレチック・イベント広場・セミナーハウス等の施設があります。
